Red Chandelier

 Well, Santa John and I have been at Mistletoe Cottage almost 2 months and I am having a wonderful time playing.  Originally I thought Shabby Chic...lots of white, but I can't live without RED .  I saw these wonderful chandeliers that were in color and just knew I had to have one.  However with the budget being what it is, I was gonna have to be creative.  I think this looks wonderful....it makes me happy and John.....he's happy too.

So, I'm not so sure about shabby chic......Shabby-yes, chic-----maybe not, but It makes me happy.
Living in 1,300. sq ft and I have a new lighting fettish.  Room for 2 more chandeliers.....I'm on the hunt.

Wow, I can't believe how fast time flies.  We have bee linving in Mistletoe Cottage for a little over 1 month.  I am loving this simpler way of living, though I still have closet envy.  Learning to live in a smaller place has been interesting.    I still have lots of my favorite stuff with me.  I have been decorating in orange and black, to get ready for a witche's tea party at the end of the month.  The black lace curtains and table cloth are ready.  Mistletoe Cottage looks more like the Nightmare before Christmas.

GARAGE SALE

I have been busy.... lots of stuff ready for the garage sale tomorrow.   Had a great preview tonight.  Rehomed lots of stuff, teddies went to new homes, as did fabric and tea sets and boxes.   A good start......ready for everything to go.  All reasonable offers accepted.  Ready to move to my little, teeny, tiny house.
I am so blessed to have had such wonderful THINGS, and wonderful memories and soooo ready to simplify.

Painting it white

Well, I'm moving stuff over to Mistletoe Cottage a little bit everyday.  Having a moving/estate sale on Sat 8/4 to rehome lots of stuff.  I have been enjoying the packing and unpacking.  I have so many wonderful things, that u take for granted.  Finding stuff I have forgotten about and getting so much pleasure in finding a new place for things.

BEFORE, IN NEED OF A UPDATE

When I walked in to the new home, I just thought it was so cute and decided shabby (chic).  My darling rewired my grandmother's chandelier that I have had for the past 30 years in both my first and second homes.  Now moving into my little cottage, she has a new look to go with her new wires.

Mad Tea Parties I have visited......

Ooooo my.... I have just been visiting tea parties!!!!!  What amazing , beautiful, fabulous ,creative places I have visited.  I have got to go see some more.  Amazing!!!!

Oh my.... I can't believe that I haven't been here since May.  Time sure flys when you're having a good time.  I have been packing and moving and unpacking.  From 3,000 sq feet to 1,200 sq feet...lots of goodies going to new homes.  Have sold a bunch of antique furniture for very little money, but I was blessed to have had it for so long.  The newer furniture is at consignment shops and I have a few wonderful things that still need to find new homes.  I am painting many things white.  I finished the dining room chairs  and the cushions will be black.  It's looking so cute over at "Mistletoe Cottage".  The Christmas trees will be over there next week.  

Taking a break today to spend time with friends.  Next week is the "Moving Sale"  I hope it's a great success.  Too many years of collecting...it's hard to part with stuff.  But having so much fun changing stuff.
Tomorrow the dining room will be done,  On to the next room.

Change is good???????????????????

People are always saying that change is a good thing. But all they're really saying is that something you didn't want to happen at all... has happened .....kathleen kelly from You've Got Mail.
  That's how things are going for me right now...it looks like I'll be moving sooner than I thought.  Packing today.   Collecting stuff has been so much fun, but parting with it not so much.

Well... I haven't posted in so long, nothing to talk about.  Well now there's something to talk about.  PACKING!  Yikes.  So many years or collecting, teddy bears, dolls, doll house miniatures, antique furniture, Christmas trees and ornaments.  Fabric, magazines, books, SHOES.  Clothes.  So much to go through.
Bathrooms, cleaned and filled a garbage can full.  Clothes....ready for sharing.  Antiques...at the auction.  Other furniture going to consignment.  Teddy bear collectibles ready for regifting.  It's a beginning.  I think when the big stuff is all out it will be easier.  Packing my white christmas tree up, now.  Oranaments are off......getting there.  I can't imagine this room without the tree.  It has been such a source of pleasure over the years.  I might just leave the tree there for a few days.  It's got 1000 lights, that stay on and it twinkles .

What does a Fabriholic do with years of collecting?

I have so much stuff that needs to GO.  I have synthetic fur, mohair and lots of fabric that needs to GO.  boxing up stuff to GO. I wish the housekeeping fairy would show up and make it all go away.
Furniture to the auction next week, a beginning.  Cleaned a closet and that will all go to a woman's shelter.

Well I must downsize my stuff.  I'm starting with all the furniture and trying Craigslist and consignment  shops.  Garage sale next week.  I have been so blessed to be able to collect and enjoy lots of stuff and now it's time to make a BIG change.  Looking forward to what ever comes next.  Giving up all my Victorian Stuff.  This growing up thing is hard.  I've been so blessed.
